Antalya Pamukkale Tour

Antalya is host to many wonderful and beautiful landmarks that you should enjoy whilst you are on holiday; however, there is so much more out there just waiting to amaze you with its natural beauty and historical presence! Antalya Pamukkale Tour will have you thinking that you are in a fairy tale, thanks to its magical scenery that gives Pamukkale its other name of “The Cotton Castle”. Looking like a mountain that has been wrapped up in cotton wool, it is simply stunning especially as the bright white contrasts with the aqua blue natural thermal springs that are in balconies throughout!

Did you know that Pamukkale is one of the 8 wonders of the natural world?! Not only is Pamukkale famous for its natural beauty and natural thermal springs, but it is also renowned for its historical value in Türkiye and the world. Hierapolis has many surviving ruins for you to feast your eyes on including the breath-taking amphitheatre which resides on the hill side of Pamukkale.

Back in ancient times this amphitheatre would proudly host up to 10,000 spectators! Hierapolis city was also well known for its healing properties, with thanks to Pamukkale’s natural thermal mineral springs, and whilst many visitors returned home fully covered, a few were not so lucky and you can see the different types of graves that respected everyone’s individual culture and traditions in burial. Christian apostle St. Philip himself died and was buried here in the ancient city of Hierapolis. Now, what would you say if you were told you could swim where a Queen has swum? Yes- you heard it correctly! At Pamukkale there is the famous Cleopatra Pool, which is where Egyptian Queen Cleopatra herself has swum. The pool still has the remains in it from the crumbling columns, so whilst taking full advantage of the healing mineral springs you can also investigate some history whilst you are at it!

Antalya Pamukkale Tour Program

Pamukkale is approximately a 3 hour drive from Antalya, so you will be collected from your hotel at around 05.00. A spacious and air conditioned vehicle will transport you on your way to the wondrous city of Pamukkale. When the bus reaches a nice little place called “Korkuteli” you will stop for a comfort break.

After the break you will head back onto the road for a little longer before arriving at the glorious gates of Pamukkale. As soon as you see Pamukkale in the distance you will have an overwhelming feeling of excitement as you anticipate what beautiful scenes will unfold before you during the day. As you enter Pamukkale, the travel guide will be with you and will tell you all the fun and interesting facts about how it has gained its beautiful colour and how the thermal springs came about. You will be able to take off your shoes and socks and wade in the warm thermal springs and feel the benefit of the mineral rich water entering your atmosphere.

Cleopatra pool is next to visit and if you wish you can pay a small fee and swim in these natural springs! The mineral water in Cleopatra’s Pool is naturally warm and you can see the bubbles floating up to the surface, just like a lemonade or a glass of champagne! This exciting pool was gifted to Queen Cleopatra as a wedding gift, and she is rumoured to have swum here on many occasions. Your guide will be able to tell you all the legends surrounding the thermal pool and about the ancient artifacts that lie at the bottom. You will see towering columns and marble altars that now live beneath the water. You could even bring along your snorkel and mask and inspect the ancient ruins close by!

Feeling refreshed and revitalized from the thermal springs and their minerals, it is time to go and check out the ancient city of Hierapolis. This ancient city was once a thriving hotspot in the olden days and the guide will point out important places to you such as the ancient Roman baths, well preserved columns and structures, the towering gate and of course the infamous Hierapolis amphitheatre! Travel back in time as you take your seats in the amphitheatre and imagine the crowd cheering on as the show is about to begin!

After Pamukkale visit, it will be time to hop back onto the bus and begin the journey back to Antalya. The road home will be broken up by visiting a famous Turkish winery where you will be able to sample some fine wines and even purchase some as a treat for later if you wish. Another interesting place the bus will stop at a local hand weaved carpet workshop. You will get to see how the carpets are hand weaved and their intricate designs. These are also available to purchase if you fancy taking a little bit of Türkiye back home with you.

The bus will then continue its journey back to Antalya where you will arrive at your hotel at around 20:00 feeling pleased and satisfied after your fantastic day out which has perfectly combined history, culture and nature into one!
