The famous library of Celsus, the ruins of the Roman baths and the world’s first antique public toilet. A brothel covered in legends and traditions, as well as the largest amphitheater in eastern Turkey. The good preservation of Ephesus only adds to its charm. Here you really plunge into history and start to fantasize what life was like in these walls hundreds of years ago.
After a busy walk around Ephesus, you will go to lunch at a local restaurant. A traditional Turkish buffet lunch is sure to please. Having eaten enough, we will continue our tour by visiting a holy place – you will go to the house of the Virgin Mary.
There is a legend that it was in Ephesus that the mother of Jesus Christ spent her last years. There is a small chapel on that spot today. People from all over the world come here – it doesn’t matter what religion you adhere to – here all people are one. Take the chance and ask the Mother of God to perform your own miracle – the local wall of desire is full of requests and calls for help, leave your mark on this prayerful place.
The first day of our sightseeing tour will end with a transfer to Pamukkale and accommodation at a hotel. At the end of the day, you will be full of bright emotions and the opportunity to take a break will definitely do you good! We recommend to pay attention to the thermal jacuzzi bath – such a procedure will be the perfect end to the day and excellent preparation for exploring the natural wealth of Pamukkale.
In the morning, after breakfast, you will have a walk around Pamukkale. Turks like to say: “He who was in Turkey and did not see Pamukkale – he did not know Turkey.” Today is the day to get to know all the natural splendor of this amazing country. You are given about 3 hours to visit Pamukkale, during which you will have time to fully enjoy the local views.
Pamukkale is the same magical view that constantly flashes in pictures on the Internet. White terraces, milky blue waters and an endless mountain that makes Pamukkale so incredible and picturesque. This is a real miracle of nature, which continues its development, and even while you are walking along the snow-white slope, the process will continue.
In addition to the slope itself, you can easily walk along the ruins of ancient Hierapolis, which was built for the sake of the wealth of that very slope. Even in ancient times, people realized that in these parts there is a real storehouse of mineral springs, so the question of building a whole resort city was accepted very quickly. Of all the attractions of Hierapolis, everyone is attracted by the mysterious pool of Cleopatra, in which the Egyptian queen herself took rejuvenating baths.
After Pamukkale, you will be able to see how local masons carve amazing shapes into such complex stone as onyx. An interesting fact: in ancient times, sometimes onyx cost much more than gold and was the true stone of rulers. Due to the complexity of processing, such a high cost was more than justified. Before the return trip, we will take a lunch break and after that we will go back to Fethiye.
A two-day trip to Fethiye Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour is the best way to see the pride of the Aegean and the main sights of the region without spending a lot of time on the road and your money!
It takes about 3 hours by bus to reach Pamukkale on your Fethiye to Pamukkale excursion as the distance between Fethiye and Pamukkale is 230 kilometers.
During the excursion from Fethiye to Pamukkale you will see the white travertines of Pamukkale, Cleopatra’s Pool and the ancient city of Hierapolis.
