Marmaris Turkish Bath is a paradise for lovers of relaxation and rest. The Turkish Bath has served throughout history as not only a centre for cleansing the body, but also as a centre for socialising. With specific times or days given for women and children to partake, separately to men. Often used as a place to meet and gossip with neighbours and friends, where wives could be found for sons and husbands for daughters, as well as a place to find well being and relaxation. The traditional Turkish name is Hamam and just about every town in Turkey still has a bath house for its residents, despite modern architecture and plumbing in modern households.
Some resort hotels have converted areas of the hotel to a Hamam for touristic purposes. These Hotel hamams serve to give a taste of the original Turkish Bath House, beneath the purpose built domes, where the traditional belly stone is ready and waiting for discerning tourists to relax and partake of this wonderful experience. Of course these days you can visit the Hamam with the whole family and sessions are unisex unless otherwise requested.
Well, you’ve made it to Turkey, why not take a Turkish Bath and find out for yourself what it is that has ensured the use of these public baths for at least six centuries. With all this pampering and value for money, it is almost a foregone conclusion that your first Turkish Bath will not be your last!
Marmaris Turkish Bath price is 25 Euro for adults, 15 Euro for children from 7 to 11 years old and for children under 6 years old free.

Marmaris Hotels Transfer: Pick up from your hotel
Transport is provided for your comfort and relaxation, to and from the Hamam building. You will be greeted at Reception and led to the changing rooms where you will receive a locker with key plus Hamam Robe.
Then follows an approximate 15 minutes in a sauna or steam room, thus opening the pores of the body and eliminating toxins through the sweat glands. This is an important part of the process leaving your pores open for the next stage.
On leaving the sauna you will transfer to the centre of the Hamam and the bellystone. Led by your masseuse you may have to wait along the marble seating while you wait your turn on the marble centred stone. There will be cold water to hand should you need to cool yourself down as you wait.
When it is your turn you will be assisted to the belly stone where the body scrub will commence. A fresh scrub mitten is used every time for this procedure and all dead skin cells are easily removed. After this invigorating body scrub the clean skin is rinsed and you are ready for the foam massage.
The foam massage is applied to your newly scrubbed body via an ordinary bar of soap and what appears to be a large pillow case. Producing a great deal of foam which is then massaged into the skin, in a cleansing and relaxing way. This is then rinsed off.
You will be taken to an area of relaxation, where you may purchase a refreshment if you wish, to await your oil massage.
When the oil masseur is ready you are taken to the massage cubicles. An aromatic oil is used to moisturise and condition your newsly scrubbed and cleansed skin. This procedure usually takes around 15 minutes.
At the end of the oil massage you are taken back to the changing rooms and your lockers, to change, before the transport arrives to return to your original point of pick up.
Marmaris Turkish Bath openning Hours;
If you are pregnant or have high blood pressure it is not recommended for you. Also children under 12 may have delicate skin tissue and are also not advised to have a Turkish Bath.
It isn’t recommended although there is no medical reason not to do so. Allow the oils around 2 hours to absorb before showering or swimming. This maximises the effects and gives you that holiday glow.
The scrub removes the top layer of dead skin so it is suggested that you have a Turkish Bath at the start of your holiday. The newly scrubbed skin will remain tanned for several weeks after your holiday has ended, whereas if you leave it until the end of your holiday you are only getting rid of the previous week’s efforts.
Obviously the masseuse has to scrub or massage any exposed skin. It is recommended that you wear your swimsuit for modesty, removing straps or ties only when asked by the masseuse and of course only if you are comfortable to do so. There is no inappropriate touching during scrub or massage and you most certainly do not need to be naked in order to enjoy the benefits of the Hamam.
Only if you so wish. The Hamams usually have a continuous flow of tourists and you or your group can go in together, or alone if you wish, but you will usually never be quite alone in the Hamam.
Some people prefer a female masseuse to a male. This will differ from Hamam to Hamam and you should make this request when purchasing a ticket from your agent. They will then be able to confirm whether or not a female will be available for you at the requested time.
Normally between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on how busy it is when you get there.
