The Red Lands Island will surprise you with its brown beaches – magnesium-rich soils have a characteristic reddish hue, which makes the island quite remarkable on our route. Shipyard Island has a direct connection with its nickname – during the reign of the Ottomans, there was a small community of Greeks here. Some ruins are perfectly preserved here, which will tell you about the rich history of life on the island of shipbuilders.
In our program we combine visits to the islands with stops in the bays for swimming. One of these will be a visit to Aquarium Bay – stunning turquoise water will allow you to easily see all the quirks of the seabed. In Smolyanaya Bay you will feel all the charm of the pine coast. The fresh smell of pine needles, the blue of the seabed – the waters seem impenetrable, but if you look closely, you can easily recognize the outlines of marine life! The bay acquired its name not only because of the blackening, like pitch, shade of water, but also due to the fact that resin for production was mined here.
We will also take a look at the place, which, according to legend, fell in love with Cleopatra herself during her travels through the territory of Anatolia. Cleopatra’s baths were founded on the site of healing mineral waters. The springs are famous for their abundant content of calcium and magnesium, which makes bathing in them a real natural spa treatment! Here you can rejuvenate your own body and experience all the delights of resort life.
All this and much more awaits you during Oludeniz 12 Islands Boat Trip! This trip is a kind of visiting card of Fethiye, where you want to go as soon as possible! What are you waiting for? Book your seats!
Your walk will begin in the morning, leaving the port – you will embark on an exciting voyage. The order of stops may change, everything will depend on the weather at sea. But, believe me, you will fully enjoy this route.
Each new stop will surprise you with a new shade of the sea. From azure turquoise to blue-black, the Mediterranean Sea holds many secrets far from its shores.
Kizilada Island or Red Land
Here you will be more interested in the beach itself than the sea. The fact is that the local land is very rich in magnesium and has a brown tint.
The most picturesque nature, the ruins of ancient Greek buildings – will appear before your eyes. During the Ottoman Empire, a small Greek commune lived on the island.
The name of the island is justified by its convenient location. It was very convenient to build sea vessels here, so it is believed that local shipyards were located here earlier.
This is not one, but a whole group of islands. The most remarkable thing is located in the very center – this is a salt lake with a depth of 1.5 meters, where you can also relax and enjoy the local nature.
Two wonderful swimming bays will open to your eyes. The first – Aquarium Bay – got its name for the purity and transparency of azure waters.
The perfectly visible bottom, even at great depths, makes this place unique in its kind.
This bay is equally popular with yacht travelers and campers. It got its name because of the abundance of pine trees, from which ships and boats used to be made.
The resin was collected in this area. Here the water will be a shade of blue – like a dense haze that enveloped from all sides. At night, the water here is blacker than the night.
Perhaps you will be able to notice the sea natives. In the Mediterranean Sea you can meet flying fish, or you may be lucky enough to spot the Caretta Caretta turtle , a local celebrity. The turtle population is protected and controlled by the Turkish government. The weight of an adult individual can reach 120 kg, and the diameter can be up to 1 meter.
During one of the stops you will see the ruins that remained after the numerous earthquakes in Fethiye. The bay is comfortably hidden behind a dense pine forest, and all its charm lies in the local legend.
According to legend, when Cleopatra traveled along the Antalya coast , her entourage built her a Roman bath in the local hot spring to express their devotion.
Local sources were very rich in calcium and magnesium, and Cleopatra highly appreciated the attention of her subjects. The healing baths that she took had a positive effect on her body and slowed down the aging process. After all, Cleopatra was always chasing the secrets of preserving her unique beauty.
You will be able to experience all the delights of a natural spa treatment and enjoy the baths on your own. Combining business with pleasure, we will head back to the port.
The Mediterranean Sea will amaze you with its variety of cozy bays, quiet islands and local color. Dispel all doubts, go for a walk of 12 islands from Fethiye with us!
