The final destination of this busy day is Goreme National Park, which will charm you at first sight. Afterwards you check in at the hotel where dinner and overnight stay awaits you.

The second day of your excursion begins with breakfast at the hotel. After that you will go back. On the way you will meet one of the symbols of Cappadocia – Üç Güzeller, which translates as “Three Beauties”. These are the famous three porcini mushrooms where you can take beautiful photos. Afterwards, visit the onyx stone workshop and a leather shop where you can buy souvenirs and gifts for your loved ones. Afterwards you will be offered a delicious lunch. On the way home, you’ll stop so you can get off the bus, get some fresh air, and use the restroom. You will arrive at your hotel around 20:00.

Akseki (Breakfast)

The first small stop on your wonderful tour awaits you at the ancient city of Akseki for breakfast. This city will attract you with its old buildings, because they are made of wood and stone without mortar using special fasteners. And the walls of the houses are very picturesque, as they are covered with many layers of plaster. Since ancient times, Akseks has been inhabited by Byzantines, Romans, Greeks, Persians and Seljuk Turks, and as a result, the city became part of the Ottoman Empire. It was during this period that the famous wooden mosques appeared. You can have breakfast from your hotel and eat it while enjoying the beauty of this ancient city or have breakfast in one of the local restaurants.

Konya

Your next short stop is at the ancient city of Konya. Its history stretches back more than 9500 years from the Hittite and Roman Empires to the present day. In the Ottoman period, Konya was the center of dervishes and a holy city. The famous Persian poet, mystic and Sufi Muhammad Mustafa Jalal ad-Din-Rumi lived here as the founder of the Sufi monastery and the order of dervishes. He is also the founder of the sema rotation of dervishes, which consists of music, dance and prayer.

But in 1925 the Sufi order was abolished by the decision of the Turkish leader Kemal Atatürk and the Rumi monastery was turned into a museum. It was only in 1957 that Dervish society was restored and is currently the main religious center in Turkey. You will have the opportunity to admire the surroundings of the ancient city and take wonderful photos.

Aksaray (Lunch)

Then drive to the small ancient city of Aksaray. The Silk Road passed through the city and therefore many wanted to conquer it. In the beginning it was a Roman city, then it was conquered by the Seljuk Turks and entered the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. In 1991, one of the most famous underground cities in Cappadocia, the city of Saratly, was discovered 20 kilometers from the city of Aksaray. This ancient underground city consists of 7 levels, 3 of which can be visited by tourists. You will see many rooms: animal dens, living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, toilets, fountains, hammam baths, barns, ventilation ducts connected by tunnels and corridors.

You will be amazed by the 300-500 kilogram stone blocks that served as doors between these rooms. Afterwards you will also visit the Caravanserai, which was built from volcanic stone in the 13th century. In ancient times, the caravanserai served as an inn for traders who followed the Great Silk Road with caravans. You have the opportunity to feel like a traveler on an ancient trade route. You will be offered a hearty lunch in the best traditions of the national Cappadocian cuisine.

Avanos

Further along the route you are the sender of the ceramic capital of Cappadocia and the city of potters – the town of Avanos. The town is a well-known center for pottery, as the techniques used to make local pottery have been passed down from generation to generation for millennia, dating back to the Hittite period. Here the craftsmen started processing red clay mined in the longest river in Turkey (800 km) – Kyzylirmak, which flowed through Avanos.

You will visit the pottery workshop, where you will be shown how experienced master potters work. You will be amazed by the results of their creativity, as many of them can be called audio masterpieces. Local potters create truly wonderful products – masterpieces of ceramic art known not only in Turkey but also in many other countries.

Devrent

At the next stop you will encounter the Devrent Valley, also known as the Valley of the Imagination. There are no frescoes on churches, houses or dovecotes in this valley, but it is unique for its unique shapes. Here you can effortlessly see rock formations resembling animals and humans, created by nature itself. In the rocks you will recognize: a camel, a brood hen, doves that merge into a kiss, as well as Napoleon and even the Virgin Mary with a baby in her arms. The Devrent Valley will delight you with unusual landscapes and you will have the opportunity to take wonderful photos here.

Uchisar

You will reach the highest point of Cappadocia – the ancient village of Uchisar, located at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level. In the center of the village there is a 60 meter high rock. Probably between 1800 and 1180 BC. A whole fortress was carved into this rock around 300 BC, containing living quarters and a water supply. It served as a watchtower for the entire village. And after Cappadocia became part of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century, about 3,000 people lived here. As you climb to the fortress’ observation deck, you’ll enjoy unearthly views of Cappadocia—volcanoes, valleys, and famous porcini mushrooms.

Paşa Bağ

After that, visit a unique valley – Pashabag or “Valley of Fairies” or “Valley of Monks”. This valley is unique for its rocks in the shape of two-, three-headed porcini called “fairy chimneys”. And the “Valley of the Monks” is called because in one of the rocks – the mushroom – there is the Church of St. Simeon. There is a cell and a chapel inside. According to legend, Saint Simeon lived here as a hermit for about fifteen years. He had the gift of casting out evil spirits and performed many spiritual miracles.

Saint Simeon lived in constant prayer, observed strict fasting and healed sick people. Many believers, following the example of the monk Simeon the Stylite, began to settle in the Valley of the Monks and formed a settlement there. But the Pashabag Valley is also known for its unique Cappadocian wine. It is not for nothing that the name of the valley is translated as Pasha’s Vineyard in Turkish translation. There are many vineyards in the valley.

You can enjoy the beauty of this unearthly landscape and take unique photos. You will also visit the local wine shop and pottery workshop where you will have the opportunity to purchase your choice of wine or pottery.

Three Beauties

On the second day of your unforgettable Cappadocia trip, you will have breakfast at the hotel and drive to Antalya. On the way back, take an excursion to the town of Urgup, also known as the main fortress of Cappadocia. You will be fascinated by the calling card of this place – “Uch Guseller”, which translates as “Three Beauties”. These are three porcini mushrooms next to each other, crowned by dark “caps”, the largest of all existing on the territory of Cappadocia. You will be able to take incomparable pictures against their background.
