Antalya Salda Lake and Pamukkale Tour

Türkiye is such a beautiful country and there are so many natural wonders that are just waiting to be discovered by you! Sometimes we don’t have enough time to squeeze many in, so this tour does just exactly that by providing you with a fun filled sightseeing day out that lets you explore not one, but two of Türkiye’s natural beauties! Experience the ultimate fusion of nature’s wonders on Antalya Salda Lake and Pamukkale Tour. Immerse yourself in crystal clear waters and stunning travertine pools.

This excursion will whisk you away to Pamukkale, which is one of the eight wonders of the natural world. This phenomenon looks like snow covered mountains, which will leave you wondering just how that can be when the weather is so warm?! Pamukkale is also famously known as “cotton castle” and you will be able to see exactly why; as the natural white surface gleams peacefully under the beating down sun it looks like just a big magical castle made from cotton wool! Not only does it look enchanting, but it also is famous for its natural thermal rock pools which are bursting with minerals and health benefits.

A famous thermal pool in Pamukkale is Cleopatra’s Pool, where the Egyptian Queen her very self has swam and soaked up some of the health benefits. But that’s not all; Pamukkale is home to the once Ancient city of Hierapolis, which is translated from Greek meaning “sacred city”. After you’ve had a wonderful time in Pamukkale admiring this gorgeous place that mother nature has blessed Türkiye with, you will head to yet another astonishing place called Lake Salda, which is popularly known as the Turkish Maldives thanks to its white beaches and tranquil water that are mixed shades of blue, turquoise and green.

Lake Salda is also a natural wonder and full of minerals that are great for health benefits, especially skin problems! This excursion is the perfect combination of dreamy scenery, well–being and travel.

Antalya Salda Lake and Pamukkale Tour Program

From Antalya to Pamukkale it takes between 3 to 4 hours, therefore you will be picked up from your hotel in Antalya early in the morning. The approximate times for pick up are as follows: Kundo 06.00, Lara 06.30, Kaleici 06.45 and Konyaalti 07.00 A full air conditioned and comfortable bus will collect you from your hotel, then it will be time to sit back and relax as you begin the journey on this amazing 1 day adventure!

The first of the two amazing places you will visit that day is Pamukkale. As you get closer to Pamukkale, you will be forgiven if you mistake the view for snow blanketing the mountains! As you move closer you will see it is the colour of the rocks and it looks somewhat heavenly next to the blue travertines that accompany it.

Pamukkale is a UNESCO protected heritage site and also one of the eighth wonders of the world. Your guide who is accompanying you will give you some interesting information about the formation of Pamukkale and how the mix of calcium and mineral water gives it this marvellous colour. You will be able to walk bare footed in the natural thermal springs and feel your body being revitalised as you walk, the health benefits from this high mineral content water are staggering! If you fancy a full body dip in the thermal springs, then you can visit Cleopatra’s pool.

This bubbling natural thermal spring pool was gifted to the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra as a token of love and she has bathed in this pool herself, soaking up health benefits. In fact, at the bottom of the pool still lays some of the original Roman columns and ruins that have been left untouched for you to explore for your very self. As you carry on walking around and exploring Pamukkale you will come across the Ancient city of Hierapolis. It is well preserved, and you can see some amazing details here and how life used to be.

The amphitheatre is still standing and is looked after, you can imagine exactly how it would have been all of those years ago with shows and the audience cheering.  If you have any questions about the history, then the guide will be on hand to help you.

After you have had a wonderful time in Pamukkale it will be time to go for your lunch. A delicious meal will be prepared, and you can sit and relax as you eat, perhaps look back on some of the breathtaking photos that you have taken at the cotton castle! When you have finished lunch, you will hop back onto the bus and begin the 1.5 hour journey to Lake Salda. This natural wonder is certainly not to be missed. The bleach white beach contrasting against the emerald water looks simply stunning and you will understand straight away why it is locally known as the Turkish Maldives. The white colour is a result of hydro magnesite minerals which is amazing for health problems and really beneficial. Again, the guide will tell you all that you need to know about this fantastic lake including the fact that it is the only known lake on Earth to contain carbonate minerals and depositional features!

After a splendid day seeing some of Türkiye’s finest attractions it will be time to start the journey back to Antalya where you will arrive at 22.00 approximately. Exact times will be discussed when you book according to where your hotel is. You will arrive back at your hotel feeling satisfied, delighted and cheerful.
