Did you know that Pamukkale is one of the 8 wonders of the natural world?! Hierapolis has many surviving ruins for you to feast your eyes on including the breath-taking amphitheatre which resides on the hill side of Pamukkale.
Back in ancient times this amphitheatre would proudly host up to 10,000 spectators! Hierapolis city was also well known for its healing properties, with thanks to Pamukkale’s natural thermal mineral springs, and whilst many visitors returned home fully covered, a few were not so lucky and you can see the different types of graves that respected everyone’s individual culture and traditions in burial. Christian apostle St. Philip himself died and was buried here in the ancient city of Hierapolis. Now, what would you say if you were told you could swim where a Queen has swum? Yes- you heard it correctly! At Pamukkale there is the famous Cleopatra Pool, which is where Egyptian Queen Cleopatra herself has swum. The pool still has the remains in it from the crumbling columns, so whilst taking full advantage of the healing mineral springs you can also investigate some history whilst you are at it!
