Our escapade begins with a leisurely drive from your accommodation in Marmaris, broken only by a pleasant short break in Mugla where we will enjoy a delicious open buffet breakfast at the charming little local restaurant. After a delicious meal, we continue our journey to the glorious ancient city of Ephesus. During our trip, our professional English speaking tour guide will inform you about the program of our upcoming visits.
One of our first stops will be a visit to the beautiful little town of Selchuk. This wonderful city is famous for its Delight Factory where you can prepare for Ephesus, use the restrooms and taste traditional Turkish sweets.
Upon arrival in Selcuk we will visit the remains of the magnificent Artemis Temple built in honor of one of the supreme Greek deities, Artemis, the goddess of chastity, virginity, hunting, the moon and nature. This amazing temple is considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
During our Marmaris Ephesus Tour you will have the opportunity to visit the House of the Virgin Mary which is believed to be the last residence of the Holy Virgin Mary. In some historical documents it is written that after the death of Christ, John brought the Virgin Mary to Ephesus. A small house was built for them on Mount Bulbuldagi. For this reason, the Pope declared the House of the Virgin Mary one of the centers of Christian pilgrimage.
Surrounded by some of the most impressive ruins of antiquity, Ephesus feels almost otherworldly. The map includes the Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Domitian Square, Gate of Hercules, Trajan’s Fountain, Hadrian’s Temple, Walking Curetes Street, Celsius Library, Gymnasium, Great Theater, Arcadian Way and many more more. These monuments are all well preserved and remain a beacon of Christianity.

Ephesus, now Selçuk in modern Turkey, was one of the most famous cities of the ancient Mediterranean. It was founded in the Bronze Age and has been important since ancient times. It contained the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the world, and for centuries served as a crossroads between East and West.
If you have the opportunity to visit, then do it – it’s worth visiting. Ephesus is both fascinating and amazing and also very beautiful. The site is very large and takes at least a few hours to get around. I recommend a tour guide, but do your research first to make sure you have a good one.
