Would you like to see breathtaking panoramic views of Turkey’s mountains and national park with your own eyes? Conquer 2,365 meters above sea level, slowly climb the cable car and look out the window at the local landscape? Take the Kemer Olympos Cable Car Tour!
The Olympos cable car is a great opportunity to view the mountains from a height safely and without special training. You don’t have to walk a thousand meters, so you can relax and look at the most beautiful pictures from the window of your exhibition stand.
Your journey begins at the foot of Mount Tahtaly, from here you will take a comfortable and spacious funicular to the top. Its design is very robust and reliable, so you don’t have to worry about your safety. The viewing angle in the cabin is so wide that you can easily see the opening look in every detail. And rest assured, this view will amaze you: large and silent rocky mountains covered with coniferous forests, as well as the endless sea from afar. With every further meter on the cable car you feel more and more adrenaline and the level reaches its peak right at the top.
Here you will go to the observation deck and admire the mountain and seascapes through the telescope. In addition, you have the option to dine at the restaurant upstairs or visit the local souvenir shops.
For a long time, Tahtali Mountain was considered by the locals to be the habitat of the gods, hence the second name – Olympos. You will see for yourself as you rise above the clouds and feel above the world. This is the highest point on the Antalya coast, and the weather here can differ from the lower ones. To ensure your trip is perfect, it is advisable to bring warm clothing in case of strong winds.

Your journey to the Tahtali cable car ride begins at 7.30am when a comfortable coach will pick you up and take you to the cable car base station at 726 meters above sea level. Already from here wonderful landscapes open up, which you can see while waiting for the funicular.
In a large and comfortable red hut you will climb to the top of a 2,365 meter high mountain. During the ascent, the magical nature of the Turkish national park will slightly open its veil for you. Once at the top, you’ll find a viewing platform that offers incredible views of forests, mountain reliefs, and geological formations. From here you can see the entire Beidaalari National Park perfectly.
On the same level, you can stroll along the upper platform at your leisure, visit a restaurant or a souvenir shop. Afterwards you go down with the cable car, where around 3:00 p.m. a bus will be waiting for you at the valley station to take you back to the hotel.
The Olympos cable car was built according to European standards and opened in 2007. It is the longest cable car in Europe and is 4350 meters long, separated by two stations. The journey from the lower station to the upper station at the top of Tahtali takes about 10 minutes. A modern and safe funicular with space for up to 80 people will take you there. And through its panoramic windows, an excellent view of the picturesque images of nature opens up.
At the beginning of the climb you see more of the green landscape: the conifers that dominate the area, like the century-old cedars and emerald pines. As they approach the summit, they are replaced by larch, juniper and from the 1,900 meter mark the vegetation thins out noticeably. More and more bare rocks are visible, as if covered with the sand of the Sahara. You might even be lucky enough to see some funny mountain goats.
The closer you get to the summit, the brighter the feeling of height that becomes breathtaking. From time to time it will seem to you that the cabin falls into “air pockets”, from which emotions only increase. But don’t worry, because the entire cable car is looked after by a professionally trained team and all unforeseen situations are taken care of.
From Mount Tahtali, the entire national park located at its base is perfectly visible, as well as a comprehensive view of the Antalya coast all the way to the island of Rhodes. Many beautiful places allow you to take unique photos as a souvenir.
Both cable car stations are equipped with modern technologies, on the lower one you can visit a mini zoo, sit in a cafe with a cup of Turkish coffee or sit in a cozy waiting room. Two trailers travel along the cable car: one going up and the other going down, 30 minutes apart.
When you reach the mountain station, a three-story building will appear in front of you, and most importantly, a large observation deck with telescopes. Through them you can see amazing landscapes in every detail from the highest point.
For your convenience, there is a wonderful restaurant and several cafes where you can have a delicious lunch when you are hungry. And if you want, you can buy a souvenir to commemorate your visit to Olympos, for that go to the shop with all kinds of gift items.
The breathtaking Olympos cable car will appeal not only to adventure seekers, but also to those who want to dilute their beach vacation with mountain resorts and get a bird’s eye view of the Mediterranean coast. A light, refreshing walk will bring you many unforgettable impressions.
When you return to the lower base, a bus is already waiting for you, which will take you to the hotel at around 3:00 p.m.
